I-9 Verification FAQs:
- Do the I-9 form need to be or can they be notarized?
NO. It is prohibited in CA to notarized the I-9 form.
However, an employee or employer may designate personnel such as a notary public to act as an “authorized representative” to help complete the form and screen the IDs. - Do I have to appear in person?
Yes, similar to getting a document notarized, the applicants personal appearance is required. - What should I bring?
Applicants/employee must bring their I-9 forms along with appropriate IDs listed in the instructions page of the I-9.
(copies of ID(s) will not be acceptable)Bringing in all the accompanying instruction(s) is highly suggested. - What information should I have with me when I arrive?
In addition to your I-9 form & ID(s), you’ll need to know:
– Employment start date
– Employer’s company name & full address

Mobile Fingerprinting Service
No additional charge for groups of 10 or more…within 10 mile radius.
A small reasonable travel fee may apply for longer distances, depending on the number of individuals being finger printed.
